Check your device’s time before an exam. Keep this tab open. When browser storage is available, an active timer resumes after refresh in this tab. No alarm sound.

## How to use the classroom clock

1. **Show the time.** The page opens as a large clock in your device’s local time. Choose 12-hour or 24-hour; your choice is remembered on this device.
2. **Go full screen.** Press **Full screen** to fill a projector, smartboard or TV with the digits. Press **Esc** or **Exit** to come back.
3. **Count down instead.** Choose **Timer Mode**, set a length from 15 minutes to 4 hours with the slider or the minutes box, then press **Start**. The display counts down and shows “Time’s up.” at zero.

## Where it works well

**Classrooms and exams:** a plain clock at the front of the room, with nothing to click or scroll and no ads. For exams with written instructions or a time-left bar, switch to Exam Mode above. **Talks and workshops:** keep a session to time without checking your phone. **Focus sessions:** run a 25- or 45-minute work block on a second screen.

## Common questions

### Does the timer make a sound when time is up?

No. It shows “Time’s up.” on screen and stays silent, so it never disturbs a quiet exam room. If you need an alarm, set one on your phone as well.

### Why do the seconds move in 10-second steps?

A ticking second hand pulls eyes to the clock. Ten-second steps keep the time accurate enough for a classroom while staying calm to look at.

### Which time does the clock show?

Your device’s own clock and time zone, shown under the controls. Most computers set their time automatically; check it before an exam.

### What happens if I refresh the page?

A running timer picks up where it left off in the same tab when your browser allows storage. Closing the tab ends it.

### What is the difference between Timer Mode and Exam Mode?

Timer Mode replaces the clock with a countdown. Exam Mode keeps the current time on screen and adds your instructions underneath, with an optional bar showing the time left.

### Do I need an account or a download?

No. It runs in any modern browser, and once the page has loaded the clock keeps going even if the internet connection drops.
