COUNTDOWN

# Countdown to any date

Make a countdown for any event and share one link. Everyone sees it in their own time zone.

This countdown link is incomplete or invalid, so it can’t be shown. You can make a new countdown here instead.

## Create a countdown timer

Your countdown updates as you type. Nothing is saved; your event lives in the link.

## Popular countdowns

Each one counts down in your own time zone. Holidays move on to the next date once they’ve passed; Europe’s clock change is a single moment, at 01:00 UTC.

## One link, every time zone

Planning a webinar, a product launch or a call with people in several countries? Instead of writing “3 PM ET / 8 PM UK / 5 AM Tokyo (next day)” and hoping nobody’s clocks have just changed, send one countdown link. It shows the time left and the event time in each visitor’s own time zone, with the date when it falls on a different day for them.

1. **Name the event** (optional) and pick the date and time.
2. **Choose the time zone the event follows.** For a live event, pick the host’s city. For a celebration at local midnight, pick Local time everywhere.
3. **Create the link** and share it. Viewers can add the event to their calendar or show the countdown full screen.

## Fixed moment or local time?

A **fixed moment** happens at the same instant everywhere: a 3 PM New York webinar in December starts at 8 PM in London and 5 AM the next day in Tokyo. **Local time everywhere** means each place reaches the moment separately: New Year arrives in Tokyo 14 hours before it reaches New York, so each viewer’s countdown ends at their own midnight. Most events are fixed moments; holidays are usually local.

## Your privacy

WherOra doesn’t store countdowns. The event name, date, time and time zone are part of the link itself, and the page works it out in the visitor’s browser. Anyone with the link can read the event name, so keep private details out of it.

### How does a shared countdown show the right time for everyone?

The link holds the event’s date, time and time zone. Each visitor’s browser converts it to their own time zone, including any daylight saving change before the event. For example, a 3 PM New York webinar in December shows as 8 PM in London and 5 AM the next day in Tokyo.

### What does “Local time everywhere” mean?

Each viewer counts down to the same clock time in their own time zone, such as midnight on New Year’s Eve. Use it for celebrations that happen at local midnight. For live events like webinars or launches, choose the city whose time the event follows.

### Is my event saved anywhere?

No. The title, date, time and time zone live only in the link, and WherOra doesn’t store them. Anyone with the link can see the title, so keep private details out of it. Like any web address, the link can appear in hosting request logs.

### What happens if the clocks change on the day of the event?

The countdown follows each place’s daylight saving rules for the event date. If the time you picked doesn’t exist because clocks move forward, it uses the next valid time and says so; if it happens twice because clocks go back, it uses the first one.

### Can I show the countdown on a big screen?

Yes. Select Full screen to fill a TV, projector or second monitor with the countdown. Press Esc or Exit to come back.
